Mrs. Maureen Deno graduated from Purdue University in the spring of 1986. She began her teaching career at Rensselaer Central  Schools in the fall of that same year. Mrs. Deno has taught 3rd and 4th-grade levels at Van Elementary throughout her 35-year teaching career.  Mrs. Deno currently teaches second grade at St Augustine School where she can share her years of experience and her love for the Catholic Faith.  

Mrs. Deno met her husband, Scott, in the choir at St Augustine in 1987.  They have celebrated 32 years of marriage and have raised 3 children: Joe, Aspen, and Chyenne. Mrs. Deno and her husband have also been involved with the  4-H program in Newton County, serving as Goat Project Superintendents for the past 9 years. 

In Mrs. Deno's spare time she likes to refinish furniture, paint outdoor sculptures, play with her granddaughter, and is currently looking forward to having more grandchildren to spoil.
