Mrs. Shari Tonner graduated from California State University, Sacramento in 1987. She attended one year of graduate school, as well. She began her career as a teacher teaching the second grade in Hawthorne, California. She has taught in both public and parochial schools for 21 years. Mrs. Tonner has taught all grades K-5, except for the third grade. Mrs. Tonner currently teaches 5th grade at St. Augustine. St. Augustine holds a special place in her heart, since all four of her children attended St. Augustine, as well as her husband, Ned, and both of his parents. She also taught first grade 1992-94 at St. Augustine. She is happy to share the love of her Catholic faith with her students.
Mrs. Tonner married her husband, Ned, a native of Rensselaer, 31 years ago in California. They have four wonderful children: Elizabeth(30), Laura(27), Emily(25) and Joshua(20). Mrs. Tonner feels blessed that her family is growing, since she welcomed a new son-in-law in April of this year and will welcome another son-in-law in October. She looks forward to becoming a grandmother in January of next year. Mrs. Tonner is happy to be back in Rensselaer with her family and friends. You can contact Mrs. Tonner on Class Dojo.
